Alex Smith

Alex formally joined the family business in 1992 and succeeded his father, Lester, as CEO in 2004. Prior to joining Kaye-Smith Enterprises, Alex worked in radio, film production and advertising in Seattle and New York City. He is active in Bellevue Rotary, contributes his time to several community service efforts and is on the trustee boards of The Seattle Chamber of Commerce, The Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research and The Tateuchi Center (formally known as Performing Arts Center Eastside). Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. Alex lives in Issaquah with his wife and two children.

Sales Manager

After spending a decade in account management at two of Seattle’s largest advertising agencies, Dick joined Kaye-Smith in 1993 as a sales executive. Two years later he accepted the assignment of managing the sales operations at Kaye-Smith’s Portland, Oregon, facility. In 2000 he returned to the main Renton facility to assume his current position as Sales Manager.

Dick received his BA in Business Marketing/Communications from the University of Puget Sound in 1981. Married 28 years, he has a UW graduate daughter and a senior son at Gonzaga. He enjoys watching sports on TV (Pac-12 college football, in particular), cooking, golf, skiing, reading the newspaper (Seattle Times) and boating on Puget Sound.

Mike Hatfield

Sales Manager of Branded Merchandise

Mike rejoins the Kaye-Smith family as the Sales Manager of Branded Merchandise after an eight year hiatus where he worked as the Sales Manager at Output Services in Boulder, CO and most recently as the General Manager at FMC in Monroe, WA, where he managed a team of 50 people while growing revenue from $12.5 million to $20 million over a six year span.

A graduate of the University of Washington, Mike currently lives on a 12-acre hobby farm in Gig Harbor with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and hunting with his son and watching his daughter play volleyball.
