Typically, people contribute to schools where their child, relative or close friend’s children attend. Rarely do they continue contributing their efforts after that particular student has moved on.
That’s not the case with Kaye-Smith employee Carole Miller. In fact, you could say she’s expanded her efforts!
It all started when Carole began saving box tops for her kindergarten-aged niece. The program, supported by many businesses, helps raise money for grades K-8; providing funds for equipment and other needs that would otherwise go unmet due to school budget restrictions. While her niece has moved on to high school, Carole continues to support her local middle school through the box top program, even convincing fellow Kaye-Smith employees to pitch in.
As one of the middle school teachers said, “We cannot thank you and your co-workers enough for the giant bag of box tops! You’ve given us $445 worth of box tops! You are truly making a difference in the lives of our students and we are so thankful for your generosity.”
Well done, Carole, and everyone who pitched in.
