Non-Profit Case Study

CHALLENGE

The world’s largest non-profit dedicated to impoverished children needed help with its emergency response program. When an area is affected by a major natural disaster, the organization sends out direct mail to donors with an appeal for financial support. The mailings need to be sent out quickly in order to bring relief to the affected areas as fast as possible. However, the logistics of such a quick-turn program can be difficult and costly.

SOLUTION

Kaye-Smith can quickly mobilize our data management resources, printers and fulfillment staff to send out time-sensitive appeals. Our sophisticated data segmentation system can generate multiple versions of the direct-mail communication to a number of different donor or sponsorship groups.

Generated, compiled and sent up to 1.2 million mailings within a week of the disaster, at a rate of 100,000 to 200,000 pieces of mail per day.

RESULTS

  • Generated, compiled and sent up to 1.2 million mailings within a week of the disaster, at a rate of 100,000 to 200,000 pieces of mail per day.

  • Allowed the non-profit to reach different donor or sponsorship groups with a personalized letter through the use of sophisticated data segmentation.

  • Reached donors quickly — within a week of the disaster — in order for relief funds to reach the affected area as fast as possible.
